How to Care for Your New iPhone 5

Posted by Bryan on 9/28/2012 to iphone5
So, you waited in line for the much coveted Apple iPhone5? Now that you have your phone, don't take it for granted. One drop onto hard pavement and your shiny new toy can be cracked, scratched, or stop working all together. One of the most important preventative measures for taking care of your iPhone5 is getting it the right case. Keep these factors in mind when you care for your new phone.

Leather cases for iPhone protect the back and sides of your favorite device from scratches, provide some cushion when the phone drops to the ground, and might also have a flap that covers the front screen. Protecting the screen is especially important, because your iPhone5 has a special coating that needs to remain intact. Without it, your Apple phone may not react to your fingers like it's supposed to. Also keep a soft cloth with you so you can safely wipe down the screen when you need to. Leather cases keep your device safe, and are also more stylish than plastic or rubber cases.

Store your iPhone in a secure place. If it's in your purse, keep it in a side pocket without keys or sharp objects and where it can't fall out easily. If it's in your pocket, make sure it's tucked in far enough that it can't fall out accidentally or get easily stolen by a pick pocket. Your iPhone is too cool to get lost because you didn't think about where you stored it. Leather cases also give your phone a little more traction, so it can't slide out of a pocket quite so easily.

Lastly, get a case that sets your iPhone apart. If you get the same case that everyone has, or don't use a case at all, it's too easy for someone else to grab it by accident thinking it's theirs.
