A broken i pad screen is replaceable, but you will have to determine whether or not you are actually capable of doing the repair yourself. If the iPad is still under warranty, then you should send it back to Apple to be repaired because they will void your warranty if you try to repair it on your own. If the warranty has expired, then you will have the option of sending it to Apple to be repaired, having an independent repair shop fix it, or purchase an ipad screen and do the repair on your own.
Here is how to replace i pad screen:
1. Buy a replacement screen and a few tools like a metal spudger, a heat gun, and a screw driver.
2. Use the metal spudgers to carefully pry the screen open. Do not pull apart any of the wires.
3. Gently disconnect all of the cables from the lid and then work on removing the LCD screen from the lid. You will use the screw driver to unscrew the hinges and you will need to unpeal the tape. You may have to use a heat gun to do this.
4. Once everything has been removed, pry the glass out of the screen and replace it with the new glass.
5. Reassemble the case and put all of the cables back into their places.
6. Close the lid and turn the unit on.
