The Samsung Galaxy Note strikes a balance between smartphone and tablet by offering a larger screen and extra functionality that is typically only seen in tablets like the iPad and the Galaxy Tab.
The Galaxy Note's HD screen measures in at 5.3 inches, which may not sound like much compared to the iPad's 9.7 inch screen, but it's certainly a much larger screen than the iPhone 4's 3.5-inch screen. v
I can't say enough about the larger screen size; it makes sense as a hybrid smartphone/tablet device because it makes games, movies, and
Internet browsing stand out -- especially with its 1280x800 resolution.
But aside from the impressive display, the Samsung Galaxy Note adds a new (yet old) take on touchscreen functionality from other smartphones and tablets by adding a stylus for extra functionality. The stylus can be used for hand-writing memos and drawing quick sketches, but also for taking screenshots of websites and basic photo manipulation. Unlike some tablets that use a stylus as a crutch, the Samsung Galaxy Note uses the stylus for increased precision -- and only when needed.
Consumers who own both a smartphone and a tablet will likely find the Samsung Galaxy Note an excellent way to merge both worlds in the palm of their hands.
