Motorcycle Leather Fashion

There is something magical about the world of motorcycle fashion. The leather they wear and the rough look of bikers lend themselves well to the fashion world. Many people wear motorcycle clothing that wouldn’t even know how to start a motorcycle, much less ride it. That’s all right. Anyone that wants to look like a tough biker can do so by following these great tips.

It’s All About the Leather

Leather is the key component in all motorcycle fashion. There is a practical reason that leather is worn by bikers. The tough nature of the leather is vital for bikers when they take a spill or crash their motorcycles. One of the most common injuries for motorcyclists is what they call road rash. Road rash occurs when a biker skids along the pavement, shredding off layers of skin in the process.

If that sounds painful, it is even worse than most people can imagine. That is why smart bikers always wear as much leather as possible. When bikers wear that tough cowhide leather, it is the leather that takes the brunt of the pavement friction if they happen to take a tumble while they are riding.

Those who are riding motorcycles should wear leather jackets and pants at all times for maximum protection. Anyone who just wants to get the biker look can make do just wearing a leather jacket. The truth is that leather isn’t practical for people to wear if they don’t need its protection. Leather does not breathe at all, so it makes people who wear it incredibly sweaty. It is best to avoid wearing the pants if not actually riding a bike. If trying to capture the biker look with a leather jacket, always make sure it is black to look cool.

The Boots Are Important

The second most important part of motorcycle fashion after wearing leather is to get an intimidating pair of biker boots. The boots are practical for those riding motorcycles. They protect the feet in case of a crash just as leather clothing does for the body. Ordinary shoes will get ripped right off the feet during a crash. A tough pair of leather, steel-toed biker boots will protect feet in the instance of a crash. They also have the secondary benefit of being a great weapon during biker brawls. Anyone who wants to capture the look of motorcycle fashion needs to ensure that they have a great pair of tough-looking biker boots. Again, they have to be black to be cool.

Vest and Chain

To complete the perfect motorcycle outfit, it is necessary to add these two items. The vest should be denim or leather and have some intimidating looking patches on it. Just don’t put the patch of a biker club that you aren’t in on a vest, or you are likely to end up in a dangerous situation. The chain is used to protect the biker’s wallet from being stolen or falling out when he rides. It also happens to look really cool.
