Whether you're a consistent business traveler or you're just looking for a way to protect and hang your dresses and suits,
a garment bag is a must. Garment bags come in many different sizes so you'll be able to find the right one no matter what articles of clothing you need to hang and protect. There are cloth ones that come in different colors in case you want it to be color coordinated to your suit or dress, or you can even get plastic ones so you can see what you've hung inside. Many people that choose to pack away their winter jackets in a garment bag choose the plastic kind so that they can see and have access to the jacket of their choosing should winter decide to rear its ugly head once spring seems to have made a lasting appearance.
The benefits of choosing to travel with a garment bag are seemingly endless. You can fit a lot of clothing into one bag and you won't need to iron or press your clothes once you reach your destination. The airline will almost never ask you to check a garment bag, and so you'll save a lot of time at the airport if that's all you're carrying with you. You likely won't even have to sit with your bag if you're flying business or first class, as these classes generally have closets to hang such bags up in. However if you've chosen to fly economy, you're either stuck having to hold the bag or hoping you can manage to make it fit under the seat.
A garment bag can be purchased anywhere from a big box store like Wal Mart or Sears, or you can choose to search the internet for the bag that will work best for you.
