Samsung's Evolution in 2013's Market

Posted by Mariuca on 1/31/2014 to Smartphones
The mobile market registered an overall increase in sales in the year of 2013, even though the Samsung's market share seemed flat in the third quarter of 2013.

Samsung manages to keep its head above water, especially because of their Galaxy smartphones, with all the features and their lower prices, but most of all, because of the money invested in the images of the smartphones. The budget for marketing in 2013 went up to $14 billion in 2013, compared to the $4 billion from 2012, thing that got its toll and helped them sell more phones.

The variety of the Galaxy phones, S4, S4 Active, and the soon-to-come S5, along with the marketing that Samsung company invests in seems to be a great idea, since the only company that may seem greater than Samsung is Apple.

Even though the Samsung terminals work with Android, the phones have a few applications especially designed for the Samsung users, which allows them to download all the needed applications and to synchronize them into the Samsung account. In addition, the Samsung terminals are 100% compatible with other Samsung products, such as TVs and so on.

According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung shipped about one third of the total shipments in 2013, counting a number of 320 million smartphones delivered to Samsung buyers, this being a record for the stated year.

Even though the sales are as high as it seems, the price for the Samsung shares tends to go on a low scale, compared to the previous years, especially because of the giants that compete with this company.

The one thing that remains to decide the evolution of the Samsung market is the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S5, with all the various features that it includes.
