Because of all the competitors, especially Apple, Samsung decided to change the strategy. The release of the new iPhone 5S and 5C made real waves among the large number of smartphone lovers, but Samsung didn’t give up.
Even before the release, when Apple announced that the new iPhone 5S would be the first 64-bit smartphone on the market, Samsung immediately said that the new Galaxy S5 will also have the 64-bit processing functionality and maybe Android will make the leap to 64-bit too. When Samsung will release the 64-bit phone for sure, it will implement the Exynos SoC that uses Cortex-A57 CPU core.
Maybe Samsung thinks that this is a good strategy, but critics say that, instead of following Apple, this gadget producer should be more innovative with its own new features and capabilities. Apple even accused Samsung that it copied some products, such as iPhone, iPad and the iOS platform.
Another strategy was the fact that a few days before Apple’s unveiling of the new iPhone 5S and 5C, Samsung released in Berlin “the Galaxy gear”. As the CEO JK Shin said, this new gear will be as a bridge between the mobile device and the fashion world, will be a “truly wearable technology” that will work as a partner to a Samsung Android tablet or smartphone.
This smartwatch will let you control some functions of your gadget, such as dialing a number from the watch, controlling the music and it also has its own camera. Releasing this new technology in Germany is also part of the strategy. Samsung tries to capture as much of the gadget market as they can, by making product launches in every corner of the world and also by reducing the prices of the smartphones and tablets.
