The New and Improved iPad 5

Posted by Mariuca on 7/22/2013 to iPad 5
We all are expecting the new gadget from Apple, but still arenít sure what to expect exactly. Therefore, we gathered some information, so you can make an idea about the "new toy".

The new iPad 5 from Apple is expected to be released at the end of this year (October or November 2013). Different sources are saying that it is possible that the new iPad 5 will be lighter than the fourth generation from Apple, because it uses only one LED light bar instead of the two from the current iPad. This also means that it will consume less power and it could run on a smaller, thinner battery, making it 33% lighter than its predecessor.

The rumor has it that iPad 5 will be 7.2 mm thick, 232 mm long, 178.5 mm wide and that it will have a 9.7 inch screen. Regarding the display, it is expected from Apple to use "GF DITO" or "GF2" touchscreen technology and IGZO (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide) display. These technologies are allowing smaller pixels, which enable a device to have a higher resolution or a higher reaction for the display.

The innovative idea from Apple is the wireless charging. Apple patented this innovation, called "Integrated inductive charging in protective cover", in September 2011 and they want to equip the new iPad 5 with induction coils, so that you will be able to charge your device simply by closing the cover.

One last improvement we could mention is that the new iPad might have vibrate mode for message alerts and haptic feedback.

With all these improvements and features, the iPad 5 might be the best-selling gadget from Apple. The price is estimated between $500 and $900, depending on the model (16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB).

We hope that we have grown your curiosity towards the new iPad 5, which promises to bring innovation in the tablet market.
